Adopt a French Bulldog

French Bulldog Dog

Manny the Dog needs a home

Meet Manfred, aka Manny. Manny comes to us all the way from Massachusetts. His prior owners divorced, and neither cold keep him. Manny is 5 years old, and is quite adorable. Who can resist a face like that. Like many Frenchies (or dogs from families that don't handle the breed correctly), he has some "quirks". Manny is a guarder of his "stuff", and certain boundaries must be set in the beginning for him to be successful in a new home. For example, he shouldn't be on the couch with his human until he earns it. That is is his biggest "value" item he protects. Once he gets on the couch, he will try and protect it and growl and snap.Otherwise he will show teeth or growl. So being on the couch MUST be earned. He likes to be in charge. He would do best in a home with leadership and discipline. Given too much too soon, he will take over. Manny is currently on Prozac to help him deal with some of his anxiety. Some stems from being moved from his home. Some comes from being allowed to be in charge. But mainly his takes what's his. If he feels safe, in time he can have free roam of a house.
Manny needs to follow the rule that "nothing in life is free" concept so he doesn't take over and has to earn his place. Manny is a fear biter. Therefore, if he feels threatened, or put in a situation where he feels unsafe and not secure,  he will fear bite. Manny is NOT aggressive. He just has limits as to how to be handled until he trusts. He fosters now are working with him, and he's made a lot of progress. We will post an update on him soon once he's been in foster care a little longer. But please know that he IS a good dog who craves the love and attention of people. He is fine with other dogs, but has little interest of people.  If you have Frenchie experience, know about fearful dogs, and are willing to invest your time, love, and patient with this deserving boy, apply now.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster home for a dog in need! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering on our website:

MMR covers the vet care, food, and tools to get started. You supply the love. Fostering saves lives. Sometimes a foster home is the only thing standing between life and death.
